Quite a few times people try to clean their own leather upholstery doing stuff they find on other websites and have ended up causing serious damage to their leather furniture.

Here is a list of stuff that you should NEVER do to try and clean your leather upholstery.

If you feel you are not up to the task of cleaning your upholstery be sure to contact the Carpet Cleaning experts at Zen Carpet Cleaning.

1. Never use bleach to clean your leather, it can stain the upholstery plus it will eventually cause the leather all together to disintegrate on you.

2. Do not try to steam clean your leather upholstery! All though steam cleaning is great for other types of upholstery it will only cause your leather chair to turn dark and shrink.

3. If your child got ink stains on your upholstery, do not try to remove it using rubbing alcohol. Alcohol tends to cause the leather to absorb the ink even faster.

4. Never use any types of detergents or soaps to clean your leather upholstery as it will only cause the color coat to come off and expose the raw leather.
